My first pastelled Horse

This was my first pastel horse, I know I have a lot of work before I am able to produce anything show worthy.This is a brown Arabian, I am probably going to keep layering the pastel until I get something I like. But please, leave comments of both criticism and advice. I'm a tough cookie, I can handle it. I need advice on how to do this kind of stuff. Thanks!
